How do you change camera inversion and smooth rotation?

ArcheAge Chronicles added separate mouse and controller Y-axis inversion settings and a Smooth Camera Rotation option in the October 29 pre-launch update. Use these camera controls to address direction or motion feel before changing combat Traits.

Fix vertical direction first

Find the camera options and select the inversion setting for the device you are using. Test looking upward and downward while standing still, then repeat while moving. If you alternate between mouse and controller, test both independently.

Change one setting at a time. If vertical movement is reversed only on the controller, changing the mouse inversion setting will not identify that problem.

Compare Smooth Camera Rotation

Toggle Smooth Camera Rotation and repeat the same small turn from the same location. Compare stopping, starting and following a moving target. Keep the option that makes those actions easier to control for you.

The announcement confirms the option but gives no universal best value, measured latency reduction or recommended sensitivity. Do not treat a personal preference as a competitive advantage guaranteed for every device.

Separate camera feel from other problems

If turning is visually choppy, investigate frame-rate stability and graphics settings. If the view turns normally but a ranged attack misses its intended target, check targeting and range instead. The same producer letter identifies ranged soft-lock targeting as work still needing improvement.

For a report, include whether the problem occurs with mouse, controller or both, whether inversion is enabled, and whether changing Smooth Camera Rotation affects it. This distinguishes a camera setting from a broader performance or targeting issue.
