Character progression

How should you check a gear tempering attempt before spending materials?

Tempering is an equipment upgrade, separate from spending character Stat Points or unlocking weapon Traits. RaidDex's tempering database organizes an attempt around the selected item, the next step, its stat change, required Tempering Stones and Gold. Use that structure to inspect the current upgrade window.

Verify the selected item and next step

Check the item's name and current enhancement level. Compare the previewed change with the benefit you actually need. An upgrade to a weapon you are about to replace may be less useful than keeping materials for your intended equipment.

Make sure the required stone matches the item category and stage shown. A stack of a different Tempering Stone is not automatically a substitute.

Separate one attempt from the whole target

Read the displayed success chance and the consequence of failure before confirming. Budget for the attempt you are making; do not multiply a single successful-step cost into a guaranteed total for a longer upgrade plan.

Database calculators may show best-case and average costs. An average is not a guarantee for your character, and extracted values can change in Early Access. This guide does not assert a universal success rate, destruction rule or downgrade rule without the current confirmation.

Choose a stopping point before you start

Decide how much Gold and material you are willing to use, then stop and reassess when that budget is reached. Check the resulting equipment after each attempt instead of assuming several inputs all succeeded.

If the upgrade option is unavailable, inspect the selected item, required material and any eligibility message. Raising character stats or buying a similarly named stone is not a documented bypass for a failed requirement.
