Leveling grants stat points; Trait Points come from separate challenges. Raising your level is not the same as unlocking a weapon’s trait tree.
What the six attributes affect
| Attribute | Developer-described effect |
|---|---|
| Strength | Physical attack. |
| Agility | Critical-hit chance and physical attack. |
| Constitution | HP and resistance to critical hits. |
| Intelligence | Magic attack. |
| Talent | Magic attack and using better equipment without penalties. |
| Endurance | Stamina and defense. |
One stat point buys one attribute point regardless of the current attribute value. The character screen previews the effects before you confirm. Use that preview for your equipped weapon instead of treating a generic distribution as a tested best build.
Weapon traits change your moves
Each weapon has its own tree. Some nodes improve stats, others unlock skills or alter an existing skill. A class’s two weapons do not share an identical tree. The official Greatsword example contrasts a damage branch with a defensive attack usable while guarding; it illustrates a choice of playstyle, not a universal ranking.
Raeven’s Coilstones supply Trait Points through exploration and boss challenges. The overview does not establish a current complete point total, reset price or mandatory allocation order, so this page does not prescribe those numbers.
Why Recommended Traits points changed
The November 7 fix corrected Recommended Traits being usable in Collapsed Southern Ruins. Points forcibly assigned through that feature were to be reset. Check your tree if affected; this notice is not evidence that all characters received a general free respec.
