The November 7 update adds an Options control to hide the mini chat window and a choice of which channels appear in Notifications. You do not need to change the entire game language to reduce unwanted chat.
Choose what you want to change
- Hide the mini window: open Options and use the newly added chat-window toggle.
- Reduce notification channels: choose the channels displayed in Notifications within the chat settings.
- Filter languages: the launch response gives the path Settings → Game Options → Chat Language Filter.
The prelaunch update describes the language filter for Region and World channels. It is not a promise to translate other players’ messages or apply an identical filter to every channel.
If the setting names look wrong
The November 7 patch also fixed chat settings appearing only in Korean. Install the latest update if your selected interface language and the Options labels do not match. The official notices use both “Settings” and “Options” in their descriptions; follow the chat section in your current client.
Keep party communication separate
Hiding a mini window and filtering Region or World chat are different from changing your party or leader’s channel. If your friends are not visible, use the party-channel guide rather than treating the chat filter as a grouping fix.
For a repeatable settings problem, capture the selected interface language and the relevant settings screen. Do not include private conversations or account information in a public bug report.
