Getting started

How do you change language, and does Steam Family Sharing work?

Change the game’s text language at Options → General → Language. Steam Family Sharing is not supported for ArcheAge Chronicles.

Supported and provisional languages

The current Steam table lists English, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese for interface and subtitles. Korean is the language marked with full audio in that table; do not assume every listed text language also has a dubbed soundtrack.

The November 3 notice additionally provides machine-translated Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese text as a provisional option. The developer explicitly distinguishes those options from officially supported localization and warns that terminology and context may be inaccurate.

If a guide uses a different language from your game, match the quest or item’s original label as well as its translated description. Changing the chat language filter is a separate setting and does not change the interface language.

Why a shared library is not enough

The developer’s Family Sharing notice says this feature is unavailable because account sharing can affect account management and the shared economy. Being in a Steam family does not establish that a family member can access this game through your copy.

Do not exchange Steam credentials as a workaround. If you own the game but cannot launch it, report the actual ownership or startup error to support; a startup problem and Family Sharing ineligibility need different answers.
