How do you equip and switch weapons in ArcheAge Chronicles?

Equip weapons into the available weapon slots, then use the weapon-switch action shown in your current controls. The equipment tutorial describes carrying up to two equipped weapons. Switching your active weapon is separate from changing your class.

Set up the equipment first

Open the equipment interface and select an empty weapon slot. Assign an eligible weapon, then inspect the other slot. Check the class and weapon requirements on the item instead of assuming every weapon in your Bag can be equipped.

The official class profiles pair each class with its own weapon choices. For example, Warrior uses Longsword and Greatsword. This is not evidence that a Warrior can freely equip the Ranger's Longbow.

Find the switch action on your own controls

The extracted equipment tutorial is dated October 24. It retains the instruction to switch weapons but loses the input icon. Use the current binding shown in the game's controls or on-screen prompt; a guessed keyboard key is not useful when controls or devices differ.

Try the switch away from enemies. Confirm the active weapon and displayed skills actually change before entering a fight. If the expected weapon is absent, check that it is equipped rather than merely stored in the Bag.

Check Traits after switching

The official progression article describes separate Trait trees for each weapon, including damage-oriented and defensive branches. Inspect the tree for the weapon you are about to use; an allocation associated with another weapon is not a substitute for that check.

Choose what the second weapon should help with. A Longsword parry and a Greatsword Resolve sequence ask for different timing. Learn each weapon's actions before combining them into a rotation; equipment slots alone do not establish a universal optimal combo.
